Dhaka City College to remain closed for 2 more days

Considering the situation, Dhaka City College has announced the suspension of all classes for two more days, on Sunday and Monday.
Earlier, on Thursday, classes and exams were cancelled at both Dhaka College and Dhaka City College to avoid unwanted situations following a clash between students of the two institutions at the Science Lab intersection on Wednesday.
The announcement was confirmed through a notice signed by Acting Principal Professor Kazi Neyamul Haque on Saturday.
Professor Neyamul Haque said that following the unfortunate incident and to restore a conducive learning environment, a meeting was held with the intervention of senior military officials.
The meeting included principals, vice-principals, senior teachers, and student representatives from both Dhaka College and City College.
It was decided to form a vigilance team comprising teachers from both colleges.
Earlier, on Wednesday, students of Dhaka College and City College clashed, with sporadic confrontations continuing from 2:30pm to 5:30pm across the area.
During this time, the joint forces of the army and police used tear gas and sound grenades to bring the situation under control. Several students were reportedly injured in the incident
