Planning Commission reconstituted

The interim government has reconstituted the Planning Commission with Chief Adviser Dr Yunus as its chairperson.
Finance ministry adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed has been made the alternative chairperson, according to a Cabinet Division notification issued Monday (November 4).
Planning adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud is the commission’s vice-chairperson, while the planning commission’s members have been made the new commission’s members.
Planning Division Secretary Iqbal Abdullah Harun is the commission’s member secretary.
The mandate of the commission is to review the overall economic situation of the country, finalise the draft Annual Development Programme (ADP) and Revised Annual Development Programme (RADP) for presentation to the National Economic Council for approval and review the implementation of short, medium- and long-term plans for presentation to the NEC.
It will also provide directives to update and review important issues related to the implementation of the national plan and resolution of inter-ministerial differences on important strategic issues of the national plan.
