"I can't sleep anymore. Everyone used to say that Mugdho and I had beautiful smiles. But now, I can't smile anymore. Since July 18, I’ve forgotten how to smile. The tragic deaths of Abu Sayed, Mugdho, and others from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement haunt me every moment,"

These were the words of Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, the brother of Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho, who was killed in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Snigdho is also the general secretary of the July Martyrs' Memorial Foundation.

On Saturday, during an event in Comilla, Snigdho broke down in tears while speaking about the recognition and love shown towards people killed in the movement.

Snigdho said: "Only those who have lost understand how cruel and painful the loss is! However, we will forget all the pain if we can build a beautiful Bangladesh. My brothers and sisters had only one goal: to create a beautiful Bangladesh free from exploitation, injustice, oppression, and corruption. We are now working to fulfill their dream.

“Those who were killed and injured in the movement freed our country from a tyrannical government. But we must not forget that we need to protect the freedom earned by their blood. Reforms must be made in every aspect of the country. Therefore, everyone must step forward to help Dr. Muhammad Yunus' government more," he added.

Snigdho continued: "We are keeping in touch with the families of the martyrs and the injured from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.”

If everyone cooperates, the July Martyrs' Memorial Foundation will expand even further to assist the people killed and injured during the revolution, he said.

At this time, he spoke with Babul Mia, the father of Jisan, who was killed in Jatrabari, Dhaka, Abul Kashem, who was injured, and Shuvo, who was injured in Comilla, and assured them of assistance.
