Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the countrymen must stand against those who have destroyed the development of the government. Those who have committed this violence should be judged by the people of the country.
He said these things while visiting the Mirpur-10 metro rail station which was damaged during the quota movement on Thursday (July 25) morning.
Sheikh Hasina said that the quota has been fulfilled more than the demands of the agitators. So what is the movement still? Their demands have changed from time to time. Which allows destruction.
He said, in the last 16 years, the country has made incredible development. The benefit of which common people are getting. Why are they so angry? Common people will suffer due to destruction of state resources. What do ordinary people think? Those who created this suffering must be resisted by the people. Those who have carried out these atrocities must be judged by the people.
At this time, the Prime Minister urged the public to come forward to stop the vandals.
He said, we are working to improve the quality of life of the people of the country. It will be ensured that the general public can reach the workplace without any problem. Efforts will be made to make the country financially prosperous. It cannot be failed that this country has been freed by people's blood.
He also said that it is a kind of mentality to destroy the structures that make people's lives easier. Although Dhaka city is stuck in traffic jam, metro rail has given relief. I cannot believe that modern technology has destroyed this transport like this.
Incidentally, on July 18, during the 'Complete Shutdown' program called by the students, the police box was set on fire on the footover bridge at Mirpur-10 roundabout under the metro line. A train runs through that fire. Later the movement was stopped.
The miscreants vandalized Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations the next evening. Ticket vending machines, passenger entry punch machines at main stations were all vandalized.
Pallavi and 11 stations were also attacked on the same day. There was also a significant amount of damage.
