Amidst the ongoing turmoil surrounding the quota reform movement at Dhaka University, star cricketer Tawheed Hridoy, also a student of the university's Public Administration Department, expressed deep concern despite being abroad for cricket commitments.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Tawheed Hridoy acknowledged the intense situation gripping his alma mater. He wrote, "I am away from everything, so I haven't seen much... Dhaka University, my life, don't bleed anymore."

The recent unrest escalated on Sunday when clashes erupted between quota reform demonstrators and Chhatra League activists from noon until late night. Over a hundred students sustained injuries during the clashes, with images and videos of the wounded students circulating widely on social media, sparking widespread condemnation.

The catalyst for these protests was Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's remarks during a press conference on July 14, where she questioned the uproar over the quota issue, suggesting that the descendants of freedom fighters might receive less than those linked to Razakars. This statement ignited protests among Dhaka University students, who felt insulted by being associated with the term "Rajakar."

The incident has drawn attention from various sectors, with demands for student safety and justice against the perpetrators of violence. As the situation remains tense, voices like Tawheed Hridoy's resonate in calling for peace and resolution at Dhaka University.
