Seasonal vegetable prices drop as supply increases

Prices of several seasonal vegetables have decreased in the market over the week due to increased supply. However, the prices of potatoes and onions remain volatile.

A visit to the capital’s Karwan Bazar on Friday (October 1) showed that the prices of several seasonal vegetables, including eggplant, pointed gourd and bitter gourd have decreased by Tk10-Tk15 over the course of the week. The price of green chilli has also dropped.

Meanwhile, the price of onions has risen by Tk15-Tk20 per kg, while the price of potatoes increased by Tk8 in a week.

However, the price of broiler chicken has decreased by Tk10 per kg in a week. But the price of local and golden chicken remains the same. And the fish market still remains volatile.
