Mohammad Mithun to lead Sylhet Strikers
Sylhet Strikers captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has decided to take a break from the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) to discharge his responsibility as a whip in parliament.
Mashrafe will be available to play for the Strikers later in the season if there is an opportunity in between his political commitments and schedule, the Sylhet Strikers franchise said in a statement.
In the absence of Mashrafe, vice-captain Mohammad Mithun will lead the team.
Sylhet Strikers extended their gratitude to Mashrafe for his commitment to the team in the tournament so far and said were looking forward to having him back when he is able.
Sylhet have lost all five of their matches so far, which has put their playoff aspirations at risk.
