Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) celebrated their 48th founding anniversary today through elaborate arrangements.
Beginning at 3 pm, the celebration featured a formal inauguration, discussion and cultural programme.
The largest portraits of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina (43x32 ft) were also unveiled during the event. These portraits will be on exhibit till March 7.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs K M Khalid graced the occasion as the chief guest with BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky as the chair.
The cultural programme features dances, songs, and poetry recitations. Noted singers Khairul Alam Shakil, Farida Parveen, and Saidur Rahman Boyati were among the performers. Tributes were paid to Lata Mangeshkar, Bappi Lahiri, Sandhya Mukhopadhyay, Subir Nandi, and Andrew Kishore.
Several eminent cultural personalities attended the programme.
Besides, a festival of BSA's latest publicications was also held.
