ACC can scrutinise allegations of purchasing 14 houses in US by Wasa MD: HC

Time Digital Report: The High Court today said that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) can scrutinise the allegations against purchase of 14 houses by Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) Managing Director Taqsem A Khan in the US.

The ACC may submit the progress about its issue to this court, the HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat Lizu said.

ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan placed a news report published on Bangla daily Samakal today on the allegations.

Khurshid Alam prayed to the HC bench to direct the ACC on suomuto (voluntary) move to submit the progress report before it in 15 days, saying that the commission is investigating two separate allegations into the matter.

The HC said the court will not pass any order or issue any rule as the commission is conducting enquiry into the allegations.

Khurshid Alam Khan told media that he has already informed the HC order to the ACC.
