Timer Digital Report: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thurasday today said they will not sit idle if BNP engages in violence and arson attacks in the name of mass procession tomorrow.
Like BNP's Dhaka rally on December 10, AL leaders and activists will be on alert on the streets across the country during BNP's rally, he said while talking to reporters at Secretariat.
Asked whether it is a counter programme, Quader said "It is not a matter of counter programme. We have to remain alert. We cannot sit idle if they carry out violence and arson attacks in the name of mass procession."
The BNP on December 10 announced that it would organise a mass procession on December 24 across the country to press home their demand for a non-partisan administration to oversee the next election.
The BNP rescheduled the programme on December 30, responding to the Awami League's request due to the party's council on that day.
