Time Digital Report:Urging all to defeat the anti-liberation "evil force", Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the defeated enemies of 1971 are still posing challenges to country's independence.
Quader made the comment while talking to journalists after paying tribute at Savar National Memorial marking the Independence Day of the country.
"The anti-liberation forces, sometimes disguised as communalists and militants, are still posing challenges to the independence of the country. This evil must be defeated," he said.
He said, "BNP is saying what Pakistan is saying. It is because BNP is inspired by Pakistani ideology. Pakistan is still in their heart, Pakistan is still in their mind."
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid respect to the Liberation War martyrs by placing wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar marking the 53rd Independence and National Day.
Later, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina along with her senior party colleagues paid respect on behalf of the party.
Quader also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country is on the right track.
"Building a smart country is now the only commitment," he added.
