Bangabandhu has shown us the way to build a golden Bengal. He has tried to present the wants, demands, hopes and aspirations of Bengalis to the world. His involvement with people was very deep. Education Minister Dipu Moni said that people would have been united at his call.
He was speaking at a seminar titled 'Bangabandhu's Dream and Indomitable Bangladesh' organized by Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum at the National Press Club on Wednesday (March 18).
The Education Minister said that Bangabandhu was a man of three eyes. Bangabandhu knew the past, understood the present and could guess the future. His sense of history gave direction to the Bengali nation.
He said the non-cooperation movement declared by Bangabandhu in 1971 was the greatest example of Gandhi's non-violent movement. He called for a non-cooperation movement in a completely non-violent manner.
Dipu Moni said that in her speech on March 7, 1971, many people asked him to declare independence but Bangabandhu did not give it. He could guess the future. He would take all the steps based on it. Bangabandhu has spoken of secularism. Secularism does not mean irreligion but to show respect to all religions.
