Time Digital Report: Bangladesh Chhatra League, Chittagong University unit vandalise at the university vice-chancellor’s office and blocked the shuttle train over the recruitment of teachers at the university.

The committee led by CU BCL vice-president Mainul Islam Rasel carried out the attack at about 3:30pm, said witnesses.

The BCL group later took the shuttle train’s key and blocked the train line.

CU BCL vice-president Mainul Islam Rasel said that his followers, who got angry as the university authorities tried to appoint Shibir activists as university teachers, carried out the vandalism and blocked the shuttle train.

He said that they would continue to protest until the university administration reverses its decision to hire Shibir activists as university teachers.

CU proctor Rabiul Hasan Bhuiyan could not be reached for comment despite several attempts.
