Bishwa Ijtema ends with Akheri Monajat

Time Digital Report: The second phase of the 56th Bishwa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of the Muslims in ther world, ended with Akheri Munajat (final prayers) today.

The congregation ended with 30 minutes long Akheri Munajat beginning around 12:15pm at the Ijtema venue in Tongi here as Maulana Yusuf bin Saad Kandhalvi, eldest son of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi of Delhi, conducted the munajat (final).

Before this, he preached to the millions of devout Muslims and delivered guidance speech, popularly known as Hedayati Bayan.

The munajat and Bayan was translated to Bengali by Maulana Abdullah Mansoor for the Bengali speaking devotees.

In the presence of millions of Muslims from all over the country, the venue was buzzing with the sound 'Allahu Akbar'. The devotees sought mercy and forgiveness from Almighty Allah and prayed for the well being of the Muslim Ummah.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq, State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russell, Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Molla Nazrul Islam, Acting Mayor of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) Asadur Rahman Kiran and members of law enforcement agencies participated in the final prayer from the control room of GCC for Bishwa Ijtema.

The second phase of the congregation began with the Aam Bayan on Thursday, which was delivered by Maulana Haroon Qureshi of Pakistan.

Early this morning, Maulana Morsalin delivered Bayan after Fajr prayers, which was later translated into Bengali by Maulana Ashraful.

Members of various intelligence agencies including RAB, Police, Ansar, and Detective Police (DB) were seen to heavily guard the venue and surrounding areas from the very beginning of the gathering.

CCTV cameras were installed and RAB helicopters hovered the Ijtema Maidan and surrounding areas.

ASI Md Monir Uddin of Special Branch (SB), Tongi Zone told media that 6 pilgrims died during the second phase of the Bishwa Ijtema.
