Time Digital Report: Ferry services has been suspended on Paturia-Daulatdia and Aricha-Kazirhat routes since this morning due to poor visibility caused by fog.

Shah Md Khaled Newaz, deputy general manager of Aricha regional office of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation, told our local correspondent that ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia waterway were suspended at 3:45am due to dense fog.

Three ferries with passengers and vehicles are anchored at Paturia ghat in Manikganj, he said, adding that eight ferries are anchored at Daulatdia ferry ghat in Rajbari while three are stuck in the middle of the Padma River.

Meanwhile, ferry services on the Aricha-Kazirhat waterway were suspended at 2:45am. Three ferries are stuck at Aricha ferry ghat and two in the middle of Jamuna River.

At the Kazirhat ghat in Pabna, there are cars and people waiting to cross the ferry even though there are no ferries, he added.

Ferry movement will resume once the fog is clear, Khaled Newaz said.
