Dhaka-Jalpaiguri ‘Mitali Express’ starts operation today

News Desk: Dhaka-Jalpaiguri 'Mitali Express', the third Bangladesh-India passenger train service, has started its services officially.

The inaugural ceremony was held in Delhi today. Bangladesh Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan and India Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw joined the ceremony.

The train started its journey at 9:30am after the inauguration.

During the regular service, the train will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 11:45 (IST) and reach Dhaka Cantonment at 22:30 (BST) and in the same way, the trail will depart from Dhaka Cantonment at 21:59 (BST) and reach New Jalpaiguri at 7:15 (IST).

It will run on Haldibari (India)-Chilhati (Bangladesh) route.

The Mitali Express will also run two days a week on Monday and Thursday from Bangladesh and Sunday and Wednesday from India.

Train fares are fixed as Tk 5,255 for AC Berth, Tk 3,420 for AC Seat and Tk 2,780 for AC Chair.
