News Desk: Finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday said that capital flight should be stopped and hundi should be curbed.

He made the observation while answering questions after a meeting of the cabinet committee on government purchases.

He also observed that over-invoicing aimed at smuggling out of money.

Money smuggling should be stopped for the interest of the economy, he said.

He said that they had information about hundi operation, an illegal way for transferring and receiving cash.

Steps have been taken to curb the illegal practice, he said.

Answering to another question, he dismissed that there was no link between price hike of fertiliser and the proposed loan from International Monetary Fund.

On Monday, the government increased price of urea fertiliser to Tk 22 from Tk 16.
