Five members of Bangshal Police Station including a sub-inspector were injured after muggers stabbed them indiscriminately last night.

Of them, constable Nazrul Islam was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while four other including SI Robi Hasan received first aid, police said.

The incident took place around 11:30pm after a team of police arrested two muggers—Emon and Jewel-- from Gulistan area and took them to Bangshal Police Station on a police van.

While getting down from the van in front of the station, one of the muggers brought out a knife and started stabbing indiscriminately, said Alamgir Hossain, an SI of Bangshal Police Station.
