News Desk: The Bangladesh Mafassal Journalists Forum, Kushtia branch, formed a human chain demanding the immediate arrest of all the murderers of journalist Hasibur Rahman Rubel and a fair trial for them at the Thana intersection in Kushtia city on Saturday.
The forum said that they would submit a memorandum to the prime minister through the Kushtia deputy commissioner on Sunday demanding the immediate arrest of all the murderers, including the mastermind of the murder.
Bangladesh Mafassal Journalist Forum, Kushtia branch, president Hasibur Rahman Riju, general secretary Nurunnahar Seema, organising secretary Abu Moni Saklayen Elin, Kushtia Press Club vice-president Nurunnabi Babu, general secretary Sohail Rana spoke at the human chain while journalist Mizanur Rahman Lucky, Independent TV Kushtia correspondent Milan Ullah, Kushtia Journalist Union general secretary Mahmud Hasan, Voice of Kushtia editor Shahinur Rahman Jewel, Kushtia Online Press Club general secretary Nazmul Hossain, Garai News24.com editor Atikuzzaman Chand, Kushtia district Muktijoddha Mancha president Nazrul Islam Pradhan, general secretary Lion Arif Khan, the daily Satyakhbar news editor Shahriar Imran, senior staff reporter Shariful Islam, journalists Emdadul Haque Milan and Pritam Majumder were present, among others.
On July 3, Hasibur Rahman Rubel received a phone call and went outside of his workplace at Singer Crossing in the city, informing his office assistant that he would return soon.
Hasibur Rahman remained missing since then.
Later, his half-decomposed body was recovered under the under-construction Shaheed Golam Kibria Bridge at Kumarkhali in Kushtia on July 7.
Mizanur Rahman, uncle of Hasibur, filed a murder case with the Kushtia police station in this connection.
Hasibur Rahman was the Kushtia district correspondent of Amader Notun Shomoy, general secretary of Kushita Reporters Club, acting editor of the daily Kushtiar Khabar, and editor of Crimevisionbd.com.
