Lawyer Sattar after winning the polls

Time Digital Report: Independent candidate lawyer Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan elected privately by getting 44 thousand 916 votes while his nearest rival candidate Abdul Hamid of Jatiya Party got 9 thousand 635 votes in the by-polls of Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail-Ashuganj) constituency.

Brahmanbaria Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer of the by-polls, Shahgir Alam announced the result at around 9:30pm yesterday.

"It was a difficult time for me. Those who voted for me in this difficult time and tried to make me win. Grateful to them. I will try to help my level best to the people as much as I can," he said in his immediate reaction after winning the polls.

"I was in Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). I still have sympathy for the leaders and activists of this party. I had to leave the party due to special reasons", he told.

"Being a public representative, there is an opportunity to welfare for the people. It is not possible from outside", he thought.
