LPG cylinder price hikes by Tk 266

Time Business Report: The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission has raised the price of LPG cylinders by Tk 266 while the authorities said that price hike was a result a result of the dollar and fuel price crisis caused by the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

The announcement was made in a press release on Thursday, February 03 and the updated prices will take effect from 6pm on the same day.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission has set out the price of an LPG cylinder at Tk 124.85 per kg. As a result, the cost of a 12 kg cylinder which was Tk 1,232 in January, has now risen to Tk 1,498.

The price of LPG was previously decreased in January.

According to the press release, the prices of all LPG cylinders, ranging from 5.5 kg to 45 kg, have been increased, with the exception of the 12.5 kg cylinder which remains unchanged at its previous price of Tk 591 at the government level.
