Time Digital Report: Martyred Intellectuals Day (Shaheed Buddhijibi Dibôsh) is observed on 14 December in Bangladesh to commemorate those intellectuals who were killed by Pakistani forces during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.

Bangladesh is set to observe Martyred Intellectuals Day today with due solemnity remembering the intellectual killings by the Pakistan forces.

People from all walks of life have been paying tributes to the martyred intellectuals by placing wreaths at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Rayerbazar this morning, marking the Martyred Intellectuals Day.

Most of the people, including teachers and students from different educational institutions, were wearing black clothes, a symbol of mourning. Many people were carrying small placards and festoons in their hands.

Just two days ahead of the country's final victory in 1971, the Pakistani occupation forces with the help of their local collaborators killed the most prominent intellectuals.
