Preadult dies after falling from roller coaster in Dhaka yesterday

News Desk: A schoolboy died on the Eid day on Tuesday as he fell from a roller coaster at a park in Shyampur area in Bangladesh capital Dhaka.

The departed is Rabbi, 12, a student of class VI in a school in Gendaria area in Dhaka

The incident took place at about 2:30pm at Shyampur Eco-Park operated by the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority, said police, quoting the victim’s family.

The victim’s friend Saif rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Rabbi dead.

He lived with him family in Gendaria area in Dhaka.

Saif said that they went to the park for Eid amusement in the afternoon. Rabbi insisted to ride on the roller coaster, but Saif and other friends refused the proposal due to fear.

Rabbi climbed onto it and fell down after the roller coaster started moving, said Saif.

Rabbi’s father Jonu Mia said that they were at their home when Rabbi sneaked out of the home with his friends.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority’s deputy director Mobarak Hossain Majumder said that the kid could not tie belt of the roller coaster properly and fell down.

He said that there was no technical or other failure of the roller coaster.
