Rangpur captain ruled out of next match

Time Sports Desk: Rangpur Riders captain Nurul Hasan Sohan has been ruled out of their remaining match of the Chattogram phase of the ongoing edition of the Bangladesh Premier League due to his side strain, confirmed the team’s head coach Sohel Islam.

The wicketkeeper-batsman is expected to return to the playing eleven with their following tie against Comilla Victorians, scheduled to be held on January 23 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

‘Sohan is not undergoing a major injury. We expect him to return in the playing eleven after the next game of the Chattogram phase,’ said Sohel to our correspondents on Tuesday.

Sohan couldn’t feature in the game against their Khulna Tigers’ counterpart on Tuesday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, and will miss out on their next match against Fortune Barishal on Thursday at the same venue.

In Nurul’s absence, Rangpur Riders Pakistan all-rounder Shoiab Malik has been handed the role of the stand-in captain.
