Team tigers end on 303-2

News Desk: Bangladesh put on a total of 303-2, courtesy of fifties from skipper Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Anamul Haque, and Mushfiqur Rahim, in the first One-Day International of their three-match series against Zimbabwe in Harare.

Liton top-scored with 81 before retiring hurt from an apparent hamstring injury, and Anamul scored second-highest 73. Tamim scored 62, while Mushfiq stayed unbeaten on 52.

After winning the toss, Zimbabwe skipper Regis Chakabva put Bangladesh in to bat first, and the opening pair of Tamim and Liton, despite being a bit sluggish, put together a 119-run stand to take the game away from the hosts.

Tamim reached his fifty off 79 deliveries and was dismissed by Sikandar Raza on 62.

Liton, who reached his fifty off 75 deliveries, accelerated afterwards and in the next 14 deliveries, he took 31 runs. But then, he seemingly hurt his hamstring trying to take a quick run, leading him to be retired hurt.

From there, Anamul and Mushfiq put together 96 runs in 76 deliveries to hand Bangladesh the momentum which took them beyond 300.

Anamul, who hit six fours and three sixes, reached his fifty off 47 deliveries and was out on 73 off 62 balls off the bowling Victor Nyauchi.

Mushfiq reached his fifty off 48 deliveries and stayed unbeaten on 52, while Mahmudullah played a cameo of 20 off 12 deliveries.
