A worker died after an old boundary wall collapsed on him while he was digging soil at a construction site in Dhaka's Bhatara area yesterday morning.

The deceased was identified as Azharul Islam Sabuj (45) of Sunamganj.

The incident happened around 11:30am at a Dwelling Real Estate site.

The six-foot boundary wall of an under-construction building collapsed on Sabuj, leaving him critically injured, said Abu Bakkar, the company's site manager.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said the body was sent for autopsy.
