First phase to begin on February 2
The Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) has issued directives for devotees attending the upcoming Biswa Ijatema, billed as the second-largest congregation of Muslims after Hajj.
The police have requested the devotees to stay in the designated khitta (tent) areas.
Additionally, they emphasized the importance of promptly notifying authorities upon encountering any unfamiliar or suspicious individuals, bags, or objects.
The directives were issued in a press release signed by AIG Enamul Haque Sagar on Tuesday.
The GMP also urged devotees to keep their money and valuables with themselves and inform law enforcement if they lose anything.
In order to facilitate the safe and smooth movement of the devotees, it has been asked not to set up tents on the main roads and adjacent areas.
If sick, devotees have been asked to take help from temporary hospitals designated for Ijtema and nearby hospitals, healthcare workers, or members of law enforcement agencies.
The organizers of the Ijtema have expressed hope that the maximum number of devotees will join this year's Ijtema as the weather is favourable.
The first phase of Bishwa Ijtema will be held on February 2, and the second phase of the Ijtema will be held on February 9.
In the first phase, the followers of Maulana Jubayer and in the second phase, the followers of Maulana Saad will participate in the Ijtema.
