President to administer oath

Thursday marks the formation of a new cabinet, following Sunday’s general election. The Cabinet Division has already received 40 new cars for the incoming ministers, ready to roll from their residences after 2pm to Bangabhaban by 7pm, where the oath-taking ceremony awaits.

The new cabinet will comprise 25 ministers and 11 state ministers.

An extra four cars are available if needed.

Ministers have the option to use their own vehicles for the Bangabhaban trip. In this case, the assigned car will follow them.

Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain said the Cabinet Division had wrapped up all arrangements for the swearing-in of the new government's cabinet. “It is just a matter of time now.”

President Mohammed Shahabuddin is all set to administer the oath to the prime minister and her cabinet colleagues at 7 pm in Bangabhaban's Durbar Hall.
