Festive Faridpur waits for PM Hasina’s speech

Faridpur is abuzz with Awami League leaders and activists as party chief Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to address a rally in the district as part of its election campaign.

At around 10am on Monday at the Govt Rajendra College ground, the rally venue, and the surrounding areas, law enforcement was in position to ensure security, while activists, marching in processions, were making their way towards the venue to participate in the event.

Expressing enthusiasm, Faridpur Awami League General Secretary Shah Md Ishtiaque Arif conveyed the prevailing sense of joy among the party's leaders and activists for Sheikh Hasina's arrival. 

The Awami League president has addressed a series of rallies–both in person and virtually–in the run-up to the 12th national election, after starting her party’s election campaign in Sylhet.
