In a tragic incident on Sunday morning, five officers of Islami Bank were shot during an attack at the bank's head office. The incident occurred around 10:30 AM when hundreds of outsiders, allegedly accompanied by armed men, attempted to force their way into the premises. As bank security tried to prevent the unauthorized entry, the armed men opened fire, injuring several officers.

The injured include Islami Bank Godown Guard Shafiullah Sardar, and officers Mamun, Abdur Rahman, and Bakibillah. They were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of the injured officers is yet to be confirmed.

In response to the incident, Salehuddin Ahmed, the Finance and Planning Advisor of the Interim Government, assured that legal action will be taken against those responsible. Speaking to journalists at the Ministry of Finance Secretariat, Ahmed emphasized that no one is above the law, stating, "I was once a magistrate. We have not reduced the catch. I will catch whoever did it."

He further added, "Surely you know who did it, you saw it. I will discuss the matter, and if necessary, I will involve the law and order forces."

On a related note, addressing concerns about ATM booths, Salehuddin Ahmed clarified, "There is no money in the booth, but that is not the case. It has been done recently; the situation was very bad. At present, there is no problem at the ATM booth."

Authorities are currently investigating the incident, and further details are expected as the situation develops.
