Jamaat held members’ (Rokon) conference at Mirpur


Mohammad Selim Uddin, a member of Jamaat-e-Islami's central executive council and Ameer of the Dhaka North City unit, recently addressed members of the organization, urging them to unite and work together for the betterment of humanity. He emphasized that the members are the backbone of the party, referring to them as "the soul of our organization."

Speaking as the chief guest at a conference organized by the Mirpur, Kafrul, Pallabi, and Gulshan zones of Jamaat's Dhaka North City unit, Selim Uddin highlighted the significance of August 5, stating that on this day, the country became free from fascism and misrule through a "successful mass revolution." He credited Jamaat's involvement in the student-people’s movement as an important factor in this victory, alongside other anti-fascist political parties.

The event, held at the Prince Chinese Restaurant in Mirpur, was presided over by Abdur Rahman Musa, Jamaat’s central working committee member and Dhaka North City unit’s Nayeb-e-Ameer. Dr. Fakharuddin Manik, assistant secretary of the Dhaka North City unit, conducted the proceedings. Professor Dr. Abul Ehasan presented an interpretation from the Holy Quran, while Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim, the unit's secretary, spoke as a special guest.

Other notable figures present at the event included working committee members Yeasin Arafat, Nasir Uddin, Ataur Rahman Sarker, Sha Alam Tuhin, and Muhammad Shahidullah.

Selim Uddin also underscored the importance of quality leadership, pointing out that Jamaat-e-Islami has been working towards establishing a society governed by the principles of the Holy Quran since its inception. He stressed that the development of skilled and efficient leadership is essential for the progress of the country.
