BNP Senior Joint Secretary Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that the fascist government has merged law, justice, and administration to secure its fascism, claiming that Sheikh Hasina has reshaped Baksal in a new form.

He made these comments during a meeting with former military officials at the BNP's central office in Naya Paltan on Saturday.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi emphasized the need to protect independence and sovereignty while also ensuring multi-party democracy.

“We must move forward with these two priorities in mind. People are being killed at the border every day,” he said.

He criticized Sheikh Hasina for being so submissive that she has not had the courage to protest despite the bloodshed at the border.

“Those who have spoken for democracy in their own country have either been confined to the mirror room or spent years in prison.”

Commenting on the political behavior of judges during the rule of the autocrats, the BNP senior joint secretary remarked that it was often hard to distinguish whether former Justice Shamsuddin Manik was a member of the Awami League presidium or a Supreme Court judge.

“We see no difference in him,” he added.

Rizvi insisted on the necessity of ensuring the independence of the judiciary.

“To strengthen democracy, the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary are essential. The judiciary is the last refuge for the people.”

The meeting was also attended by retired Brigadier General Zahurul Haque, Colonel Touhid Pathan, Colonel Abdul Haque, and Lieutenant Colonel Hasinul Rahman, among others.
