Minister Nazmul emphasizes on use and maintenance of stadiums

The construction of 125 mini stadiums, named after Sheikh Russel, has been completed in the first phase
Nazmul Hasan Papon, the Minister of Youth and Sports, has emphasized the importance of utilizing and maintaining sports infrastructures, including the recently built Sheikh Russel mini stadiums across the country.
The construction of 125 mini stadiums, named after Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has been completed in the first phase, following the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The construction of an additional 186 mini stadiums is currently underway in the second phase, with the goal of establishing a mini stadium in every upazila.
"All the stadiums that have been constructed should be properly used and maintained. I have given instructions to provide written guidelines," Nazmul told reporters after a meeting at the Ministry on Sunday.
The meeting included a review of the construction of Sheikh Russel Mini Stadiums, stadiums for physically challenged individuals beside the parliament house, and the modernization and renovation of the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The Minister also announced plans to personally visit the ongoing construction work of these stadiums soon.
The renovation work at Bangabandhu National Stadium has been ongoing for a considerable amount of time. Expressing hope that the work will be completed by December, Nazmul said, "I have urged the project managers to expedite the scheduled work as soon as possible."
