Students will be refrained from all activities outside the classroom

Preparations have been taken for in-person classes in secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions starting next Sunday.

The information was revealed by the Ministry of Education on Thursday.

The decision takes into account that the current temperature is different across different region. Additionally, the authorities said this is not the highest temperature ever recorded in Bangladesh.

That is why preparations have been taken to open all educational institutions, Professor Shahedul Khabir Chowdhury, director (Administration and Colleges) of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, said.

According to the Ministry of Education, even if classes start on Sunday in educational institutions, students should refrain from all activities outside the classroom. The Assembly will remain closed until further notice.

Apart from this, educational institutions will remain open every Saturday from May 4 till further orders.

Following the heat alert on April 19, classes were stopped in primary, secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions till April 25.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a 72-hour warning or heat alert across the country on Thursday for the third time. The 72-hour alert will end on Sunday morning.
