2 arrested over attack on journalist in Savar

Journalist came under attack while taking photos
Police have arrested two people in connection with the beating of The Daily Star journalist Aklakur Rahman Akash in Savar early Tuesday.
The arrested are Md Monir Hossain, 34, and Babul, 34. They live in a rented house in the Bank Colony area of Savar.
Savar Model police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Sudeep Kumar Gop said that two persons have been arrested from the Bank Colony area in connection with the case. They have been sent to the court seeking a three-day remand.
Besides, on Monday afternoon, the mobile phone of Akash was recovered from the factory.
The Savar correspondent of The Daily Star newspaper, Aklakur Rahman Akash, came under attack when he went to Bengal Fine Ceramics Ltd factory in Bhagalpur area on Sunday.
Akash, 35, was later taken to Enam Medical College Hospital for treatment. He received injuries to his eyes, head and different parts of the body.
He said the attackers hit him indiscriminately as he took photos of vandalism at the factory around 10:30am. They also snatched his phone.
