In a show of solidarity with the student-led quota reform movement, artists from various disciplines gathered at Farmgate in the capital on Thursday morning. The assembly of visual artists and stars aimed to protest against the violence, killings, and mass arrests surrounding the movement.

Despite inclement weather, the artists gathered with banners and festoons, raising slogans such as "Prosecute all murders" and "Stop murder-violence-mass-arrest-harassment." The protest saw a significant presence of law enforcement personnel, underscoring the tense atmosphere.

The society of visual artists, comprising individuals from film, photography, theater, and mass media, included notable figures like Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, actor Mosharraf Karim, actress Ajmeri Haque Bandhan, actor Siam Ahmed, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Iresh Zaker, Tanim Noor, Nusrat Imroz Tisha, Sabila Noor, Tasnia Farin, among others. These artists publicly expressed their support for the students' demands and condemned the recent violence.

During the gathering, speakers called for accountability and justice for all killings and demanded an immediate cessation of indiscriminate violence and harassment. They emphasized the need for a fair trial for those involved in the recent events and urged the authorities to release detained students.

This demonstration highlights the growing concern and support from various sectors of society, including the arts community, as the country grapples with the ongoing unrest related to the quota reform movement.
