Quader warns BNP not to provoke violence from rally

'BNP talks big but their movement is fake'
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has issued a stern warning to BNP leaders who staging demonastration demanding the release of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, not to provoke any violence from the party's rally.
“I want to make it clear that the agitation is being done, okay, carry on... However, if elements of violence are added to the movement, it will be handled strictly,” said Quader, also road, transport and bridges minister.
He said these things at the discussion meeting of party's Dhaka Metropolitan South Unit at Bangabandhu Avenue on the occasion of the 75th founding anniversary of Awami League on Saturday afternoon.
Mentioning that the game will be played again, Obaidul Quader said that the game will be against corruption, against money laundering, against looting, against militancy, against communalism.
He said that BNP talks big. Their movement is fake. The name of fear in BNP is Tareque Rahman. At midnight the order came from the banks of the Thames.
Quader said “Made in London” announces program from London. The new leadership is sent in the form of decrees. Staying in London, he (Tareque) makes leaders, gives programs….What does this Made in London program mean? But the game will be played, they will not be spared.”
He said that Awami League is the organization that plays a leading role in establishing the right to vote and rice of the people of Bangladesh. The age of this institution is 75 years. Awami League is the name of long struggle, movement, storm, darkness, moving forward with firm steps against dictatorship.
“We stand in the procession of death and sing the song of life. We stand on the ruins and wave the flag of creation. Our roots are deep in the soil of Bangladesh. We are born from people. We are not a group that raised arms and seized power in midnight. We fought a liberation war with the people among the people under the leadership of Bangabandhu.”
Regarding the program of the foundation anniversary, he said: “we announced that we wound celebrate year-long program. Now news has been published that we are arraging counter program.”
“Yesterday (on Friday) we had a bicycle rally, what did BNP have? So why is this slander against the Awami League? We will celebrate the anniversary throughout the year. This program will be held from our centre to the union. District level rally will be held after August. Sheikh Hasina will address the rally.”
