Government will act against disruptions, Law Minister Anisul Huq says
Law Minister Anisul Haque suggested that there might be a political conspiracy behind the ongoing quota movement. He made these remarks in response to journalists' questions at the Akhaura railway junction station in Brahmanbaria on Friday around 11 o'clock.
"I cannot deny that the ghosts of those who opposed the independence of Bangladesh, who conspired and killed 17 family members including the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, are involved in this conspiracy to some extent. You understand it, we understand it too," the Law Minister stated.
Expressing his views on the students' protests, he said, "I believe that the new generation of students, who have presented their views on this quota and will obey the order given by the Supreme Court, will definitely go back home. The more important thing is that I believe they will avoid the inconvenience and suffering of the people. I think they will go back home."
Haque emphasized the government's responsibility to protect lives and property, stating, "It is the responsibility of the government to see the advantages and disadvantages of the people. If anyone obstructs it, the government will have to take legal action."
When questioned about Syed Abed Ali's arrest in connection with the question paper leak case, the Law Minister chose not to comment.
Present at the event were Akhaura Upazila Awami League President Mohammad Ali Chowdhury, General Secretary and Municipal Mayor Md. Takzil Khalifa Kajal, Vice Chairman and President of Upazila Chhatra League Sahab Uddin Beg Shaplu, former Vice Chairman Murad Hossain Bhuiyan, and others.
