The statement came during a press interaction at the Bangladesh-Myanmar border inspection, led by BGB's Cox's Bazar region on Wednesday (February 7). Major General Siddiqui visited the Tumbru and Ghumdhum borders in Naikxyongchari Upazila of Bandarban, along with the adjoining Border Outpost (BOP) of BGB's Cox's Bazar Battalion (34 BGB). During the visit, the Director General engaged with BGB members at various levels, emphasizing the importance of executing their duties with professionalism to safeguard the nation's sovereignty.

He underscored the commitment to follow the Prime Minister's directives and maintain a patient and humane approach, while also upholding strong international relations. The Director General firmly stated that no illegal entries into Bangladesh would be tolerated under any circumstances, emphasizing the BGB's readiness to make significant sacrifices to protect the nation's sovereignty.
During the visit, Major General Siddiqui inquired about the well-being of Border Guard Police (BGP) members, Myanmar Army personnel, Immigration Officers, Police, and other individuals who sought refuge in Bangladesh due to the ongoing conflict in Myanmar's Rakhine State. He also visited injured BGP members receiving treatment at the hospital.
In an exchange of views with journalists, the BGB Director General assured that the border situation is entirely under BGB control. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to manage the situation responsibly and in accordance with established protocols. Major General Siddiqui concluded the discussion with a firm belief in the BGB's preparedness to make necessary sacrifices in dealing with any border-related challenges, emphasizing their commitment to protecting the sovereignty of the motherland.
The event was attended by senior officers of BGB Headquarters, Cox's Bazar Region Commander, Ramu Sector Commander, and Cox's Bazar Battalion Captain. It's worth noting that 264 members from various organizations, including Border Guard Police, Myanmar Army, Police, and Immigration, have entered Bangladesh seeking refuge amidst the ongoing conflict in Myanmar.
