Case was filed over political violence in Dhaka
A Dhaka court has framed charges against 45 people, including BNP Senior Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, in a case filed over political violence in Dhaka in 2015, issuing an arrest warrant for the veteran politician as he is a fugitive.
The court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain gave the order on Monday and set January 4 for recording testimonies.
Others indicted in the case include Amanullah Aman, Barkatullah Bulu and Ruhul KuddusTalukder Dulu.
According to the case documents, on the night of January 17, 2015, a petrol bomb was thrown at a bus in the Beribandh area of Mohammadpur, which left six/seven passengers burnt.
Later they received treatment at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The police filed a case at Mohammadpur police station in this connection the next day.
On August 23, 2016, Sub-Inspector Kamal Krishna Saha of the same police station pressed charges against 45 people.
