PSC question leak: Three-member probe body formed

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has formed a three-member committee to investigate allegations of leaked questions for the examinations held under the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).

The committee, led by Public Service Commission Joint Secretary Dr. Abdul Aleem Khan as its convener, has been tasked to submit their report within the next 15 working days.

On Monday, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) detained seventeen people in connection with the incident. Among the detainees are Syed Abed Ali and his son Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam. In addition, fifteen others were detained during CID raids conducted across different locations in the country over the past two days.

According to CID sources, the other detainees include:

  • Assistant Director Alamgir Kabir
  • Dispatch Rider Khalilur Rahman
  • Office Assistant Sajedul Islam
  • Auditor Priyanath Roy
  • Noman Siddiqui
  • Abu Solaiman Md. Sohel
  • Zahidul Islam
  • Mamunur Rashid
  • Sakhawat Hossain
  • Sayem Hossain
  • Liton Sarkar
  • Narayanganj Regional Passport Office Security Officer Shahadat Hossain
  • Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital Medical Technician Niamun Hasan

The investigation gained momentum following an investigative report aired by a private television channel on Sunday evening, which uncovered the scandal involving leaked question papers for 30 recruitment exams, including the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams.

The PSC has expressed a strong commitment to addressing the issue and ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
