RAB to continue its drives against extortionists
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained 20 people for selling essential commodities and meat at higher-than-normal prices on Monday.
“RAB is conducting drives to prevent such wrongdoing. Since Monday morning, 20 people have been held,” RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin said at a press conference at Karwan Bazar in Dhaka on Monday.
Action will be taken against vendors if they hoard essentials and sell them at prices higher than the ones set by the government, he added.
Referring to ongoing drives against extortion on goods-laden trucks, he said 50 people were detained from different entrances to the capital in this connection on Sunday.
RAB will continue its drives against extortionists, he said.
