US keen to work with Bangladesh to fight against climate change
Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury on Sunday said US and Bangladesh to work together in strengthening bilateral relations with a particular emphasis on environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
The environment minister informed journalists after a productive meeting with US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas at the Secretariat.
The meeting highlighted a range of shared priorities, including the scaling up of collaborative initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing Bangladesh’s capacity to adapt to the impacts of climate change, reports UNB.
Both parties expressed optimism about continuing their close collaboration in the years to come, indicating a long-term commitment to environmental and climate objectives.
Despite acknowledging some differences of opinion, Ambassador Haas reassured that the United States is keen to work with Bangladesh on various fronts, including the fight against climate change.
He also said the significant opportunities for collaboration, expressing eagerness to work together towards building a more climate-resilient future for both nations.
