Fire at Uttara East police station

An incident of arson occurred at the capital's Uttara Purba police station, prompting two units of the fire service to respond.
At 1:30 PM on Thursday, the fire service received reports of the arson attack at Uttara Purba police station. Lima Khanom, the duty officer at the fire service control room, confirmed that two fire service teams were dispatched to the scene. The cause of the fire and the perpetrators remain unknown at this time.
Simultaneously, Mirpur Kazipara witnessed intense clashes between police and students protesting for quota reform. Students marched from Mirpur area number 10 to Kazipara, where police intervention led to a violent exchange. Students retaliated by throwing bricks after police attempted to disperse them with tear gas. The students then set a police box on fire, causing widespread disruption and bringing the entire area to a standstill.
