The headquarters of Jatiya Party (JaPa) have been vandalized and set on fire by a group of students and workers.
The attack incident took place in Bijaynagar of the capital on Thursday evening.
A group of protesters under the banner of “Anti-Fascist Student, Workers, People” carried out the attack.
Students marched with torches under the banner at the Raju Sculpture on Dhaka University campus to protest against the "political maneuvers and anti-national conspiracies of the fallen fascist Awami League and their ally, the Jatiya Party."
During the protest, they referred to the JaPa as an ally of the Awami League, stating that they have no right to engage in politics. They asserted that political machinations and anti-national conspiracies would not be tolerated in the country.
Following this, the students proceeded to encircle the office in Bijaynagar, where clashes broke out between the students and Jatiya Party activists, resulting in several injuries.
Afterward, one of the key organizers of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Hasnat Abdullah, labeled the Jatiya Party as "national traitors" and called for a march from the Raju Sculpture to Bijaynagar.
In the evening, Hasnat posted two statuses on his verified Facebook page, accusing the JaPa of attacking the activists of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
In a post at 7:03pm, he wrote: "This national traitor, the Jatiya Party, has attacked our brothers in Bijaynagar with weapons and is parading with arms. We must ensure the expulsion of these national traitors."
A little while later, he posted again, mentioning: "We will move from the Raju Sculpture to Bijaynagar at 7:30pm. We must eliminate the national traitors."
