Taheri’s vehicle attacked in Brahmanbaria

Islamic speaker Gias Uddin Taheri's microbus was reportedly attacked and vandalized in Brahmanbaria town on Monday.

Mohammad Mojafar Hossain, the officer in charge (OC) of the Sadar police station, confirmed the attack.

According to local sources, a human chain was formed in front of the Brahmanbaria Press Club to protest derogatory remarks made about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in India.

Taheri was scheduled to join the human chain at 5pm.

However, for security reasons, the event was cancelled.

In the afternoon, Taheri got into his vehicle with his followers from the Ghorapatti Bridge.

While heading towards Kautali, a group of miscreant surrounded his vehicle on TA Road and attacked it, vandalizing it extensively.

However, Taheri was able to drive away from the scene afterward.

OC Mojafar Hossain stated that Taheri has been advised to file a written complaint, and necessary actions will be taken based on the complaint.
