BNP’s Nipun Roy Chowdhury gets bail in 7 cases

Cases filed with Ramna and Paltan model police stations
BNP Executive Committee Member and Dhaka BNP General Secretary Nipun Roy Chowdhury has been granted bail in 7 cases filed with various police stations in Dhaka on charges of vandalism, including an attack on the chief justice’s residence.
Nipun Roy surrendered and applied for bail in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Assam Joglul Hossain on Thursday.
The bailable cases include two cases with Ramna model police station and five cases with Paltan model police station.
Additional Public Prosecutor Tapas Kumar Pal, the state counsel at the court concerned, confirmed this information.
Earlier, Nipun Roy got anticipatory bail from the High Court.
As the bail period had expired, she surrendered to the lower court and applied for bail. After the hearing, the court granted her bail.
On October 28, 2023, the chief justice's residence was attacked and vandalism was carried out at various places around a BNP rally in Naya Paltan.
Later, cases were filed with various police stations on charges of sabotage.
