The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has said that recently some anti-state elements have been attempting to deteriorate law and order through misinformation and affirmed its ongoing commitment to a zero-tolerance stance against terrorism.

In a press release issued from the organization's headquarters on Wednesday, it stated that Bangladesh is now a global role model in countering terrorism.

Since its inception, RAB said it has played a leading role in combating terrorism and extremism, adding that the force has arrested top leaders of various terrorist organizations in its operations.

Since its establishment, RAB has apprehended 3,014 members of different terrorist groups and brought them under the law, it mentioned.

The press release noted that the RAB director general has instructed all battalions to take strict legal action against those who disrupt terrorism, extremism, and communal harmony.

It also highlighted that RAB continues to maintain strict surveillance over those who have been released on bail to ensure they do not re-engage in terrorist activities.

If any such individuals become involved in criminal activities after their release, RAB will arrest them and bring them back under the law, the release said.
