A delivery by Taskin hit Tamim's left index finger after which he received initial treatment
Tamim Iqbal suffered an injury Tuesday while batting at the Mirpur nets in his bid to come back to cricket with the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League.
A delivery by Taskin Ahmed hit his left index finger after which he received initial treatment.
He was then seen leaving the indoor facilities with bandaged finger, which appeared to leave his participation in BPL in limbo.
No official statement has come regarding the state of his injury as of now.
Tamim last played an international game on September 26 last year during New Zealand's One Day International tour of Bangladesh.
He then missed the ODI World Cup in India, two-match Test series against the Kiwis at home and away series in New Zealand due to his recurring back injury.
Tamim was scheduled to return to cricket on January 20, when his side Fortune Barishal take on Rangpur Riders in their first game of the BPL.
After the BPL, Tamim is slated to talk to Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan as he wants to take a decision on his international career.
