Krishak League central president Samir Chanda has been detained.
He was apprehended from the capital on Thursday (October 3) night, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP’s) Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman said.
He said that there are cases against Chandan in several police stations in the capital.
Samir Chanda was elected president of the central committee of the Krishak League, an associate body of the ruling Awami League, in 2019.
Central leaders of the party as well as leaders of its associate organisations have fled since the fall of the Awami League government on August 5 in a student-led mass-uprising.
